Toronto-born and now based in Los Angeles, Leah fell in love with film at a young age—not just the stories, but the magical worlds that live within them. Her fascination with the visual language of cinema quickly grew into a passion for building those worlds herself.

Inspired by the bold artistry of David Bowie, Ken Russell, David Lynch, Dario Argento, and Floria Sigismondi, she brings a love of visual storytelling and a flair for the surreal into her design work.

Leah is grateful to build worlds for a living—crafting immersive, emotionally resonant environments that help stories take shape and spark the imagination.

Leah Waters-Katz is a Los Angeles-based production designer and set decorator who brings care, texture, and a deep love of world building to every project. Her work spans narrative, commercial, music video, editorial and branded content - with a style that moves fluidly between the grounded and the dreamlike.

Drawn to liminal and nostalgic spaces, Leah’s designs are layered with feeling - playful, imaginative and emotionally resonant. She approaches each project as a collaboration.

At the core of her practice is a passion for creating spaces that enhance the story - whether that be one of grounded realism or a whimsical and otherworldly environment.

One of Leah’s favorite aspects of working in the film industry is the opportunity to collaborate with so many talented artists. She thrives in environments where ideas are exchanged freely and a creative vision is shared. She brings enthusiasm, expertise, flexibility and a genuine desire to create beautiful, meaningful work.
